The king Umberto II of Savoy and his wife, the queen Maria Jose of Belgium moved from Piedmont to Naples. On 4th November 1931 their arrive in Naples was sealed by symbolic greeting and they went to Royal Chapel of the Treasure of St. Januarius.

On that occasion they gave the gold pyx with coral and malachite commissioned to Ascione Family from Torre del Greco. It is a typical example of coral manufacturing in Torre del Greco, the uncontested capital city of coral, and of Neapolitan ability.
